Things I daydream about:Things I could do without:
  • Travel and more travel
  • Atmospheric venues
  • Sailboats and Horses
  • Grooms with style that like to look good
  • Weddings held either somewhere unique or meaningful to the couple
  • Intentional components to weddings
  • Road Trips with my husband
  • Pinterest
  • Shopping at local boutiques
  • Couples that give each other thoughtful gifts on their wedding day – I wish I had
  • Couples that treat me like a trusted friend
  • Parents that love to play (and laugh!) with their kids
  • The “;)“ face — I over use it
  • Free music in the park and picnics to go with
  • Grooms that are tender to their brides and don’t take themselves too seriously
  • Brides who love life and make it their own
  • Knitting or sewing with my mom
  • Lunch dates with my dad
  • Sitting on a porch and talking for hours  (maybe while playing cards)
  • Eating good food — particularly local and organic
  • Raining days in comfy clothes
  • The ballet – or maybe the idea of the ballet
  • Authenticity
  • Dads and grooms who cry
  • Thick scarfs in the winter
  • Anything on or near the water
  • People who are really present
  • Good conversation
  • Sparking wine in the summer, hard cider in the fall, and homemade hot chocolate in the winter
  • Bike helmets – sweaty!
  • Drama
  • Sunburn and Tanning Beds – I embrace my pasty self
  • Really hot days – sweaty!  (see a pattern?)
  • Weddings without personality
  • Group shots indoors
  • Group table shots – boring (though I do think photos of your guests are very important!)
  • Matching clothes for family shoots
  • Cranky grooms
  • Being interrupted by cell phones
  • Guns — I really don’t get them or the people who love them
  • Too much make-up
  • Taking photos at Red Rocks
  • Sequins and rhinestones
  • Coffee – just never got into it and figured there’s no point to it now
